1 the man and the water sprites. 2 a man had drunken a lot of spirits. 3 he wants to go somewhere, and his mother told him: "may the water sprite carry you, if you drink more spirits!" 4 afterwards he goes to the department district administration's house to drink spirits, and (on his way) he met the church warden and the djak. 5 they ask him: "where do you go?" 6 he said: "to you!" the church warden and the djak say: "well! let's go!" they go, and they even pass by the tavern. 7 now the man says: "these are not humans!" they go continuous and arrive to the river (actually water). 8 thereupon they (the church warden and the djak) embrace him and carry him away. 9 they were water sprites. 10 thereupon they carried him into a good house, gave him tea and sugar. 11 then the man began to pray, and in the same moment they turned into a fir tree, and the sugar turned into fir cones. 12 afterwards the man went home, was taken ill and died.
